Strawberry Fields.

Yesterday I went strawberry picking for the first time! I was a lot of fun and I filled a bucket with over 15 pounds worth of berries. I then made jam with a few friends… which really only made a very small dent in my big bucket. So now I am dreaming up some things to make with a fridge and freezer full of strawberries! These recipes caught my eye.

Poppy Seed Cake via Not Without Salt

Salmon with Strawberry Salsa via Annie’s Eats

Homemade Strawberry Sour Cream Ice Cream via Kitchen Trial and Error

Strawberry Hazelnut Salad with Sesame Dressing via In Praise of Leftovers

I can’t believe it was your first time strawberry picking! Did you go to Krause Farms in Aldergrove?

Anika – I know! I always remember the Isaak kids berry picking 🙂 and I just never did it for some reason. We went to Mann Farms in Abbotsford. They were having a really good sale on their pesticide-free strawberries.

We had strawberrie and mint mojitoes (can’t spell it!)…now that was a fine use of the berry!
