A Few Lovely Things.

Happy Monday y’all! I hope you had a great weekend. Mine was just lovely! The sun finally decided to shine for a whole 3 days straight here on the west coast! This is big news people. It has been so dreary lately (and according to the weather app on my phone, it will continue to be)… but I am so thankful for the sunny reprieve we just had.

On Saturday we had our photos taken for the first time as a little family of three by the talented Jayme Lang. We had postponed this session for at least 3 weeks because it just happened to rain every Saturday, so we were pretty pumped to finally get out there. We’ve seen one little sneak peak from our session and it is AMAZING! Can’t wait to see the rest – I’ll be sure to share some when the time comes. For now, here are a few lovely things, all in the colour of the sea… or the rain, depending on how you look at it.

Lovely vintage seam binding.

Lovely spearmint denim.

Lovely vintage bottles.

A lovely painting.

Lovely vintage milk glass spice jars.

Lovely sea glass containers.

Today.

Today my mom is babysitting this little doll so her mama can go thrift store shopping! And I couldn’t be more excited! Hopefully I will come home with some treasures. Wish me luck! I hope you all have a great Wednesday as well.

A Few Lovely Things.

¬†Hello! How was your weekend? Ours was good; lots of visiting with friends and family… although, it would have been a lot better if the sun had decided to shine for us. I don’t know about you, but I cannot wait for Spring to be here for real! I have had enough of this crazy rain/hail/snow-type weather to last me until next winter! Right now it looks like this weekend is supposed to be nice – my fingers are crossed!

I thought I would pop in today with a few lovely things that have caught my eye recently. Enjoy!

A lovely vintage child’s outfit.

A lovely clutch.

A lovely dress.

Lovely little baby shoes.

Lovely little flag stands.

Lovely hair pins.

A lovely owl.

Antique Rugs in the Kitchen.

Happy Friday all! You’ll have to forgive me for the extreme quietness around here lately – this time my excuse is not (only) a baby, but the reality of getting this blog up and running after the unfortunate event of being hacked.¬† It is slow going around here, folks.

One thing I have always loved, and even more so recently, are antique rugs in the kitchen. I think it makes the kitchen somehow seem even more homey and lived in. They look just as great in classic, country style kitchens as they do in modern, contemporary kitchens. But the thing I love most about antique rugs in the kitchen is that they add a sort of eclectic warmth to a room that can sometimes look stark and clinical. Now all I have to do is find one I can afford!

If you are interested in finding one of these fabulous antique rugs as well, you could start by looking here and here. There are some great options out there – and if you look hard enough, you can find some killer deals! I hope you have a fantastic weekend and I’ll see you next week!

Hacked!

Well, these last couple of weeks have been the most frustrating on this ol’ bloggy blog. Unfortunately our server was hacked, which meant a lot of work for Dustin (since I am pretty clueless when it comes to the technical side of blogging)… Luckily he was able to restore most of the content (!) which was a huge relief, but the look of my blog was lost to us forever. Although instead of being upset about that, I think it is a great excuse to change things up a bit here. So what you see now is just temporary until we have some time to ‘redecorate’ so to speak.

For those of you still out there, thanks so much for your patience! I am really hoping the worst is over and I am excited to get back into the swing of things next week! Have a great weekend!

{P.S. the image above is of a few beautiful antique quilts my mom found for me on Craigslist! I’m still deciding if I have it in me to sell them…}
