Monday, Monday…

It’s Monday already? I am still trying to wrap my head around the fact that the weekend is really over. Where did it go? I did get a lot accomplished this weekend, including a fair bit of rest and for that I am thankful. The last few nights, I have found it difficult to sleep (for no particular reason), and I just keep hoping that this isn’t a sign of how the last 9 weeks of this pregnancy are going to play out. I have a feeling that once this little bean is actually with us, sleep will be a thing of the past anyway… so I hope to get as much as possible before that happens.

Today I would like nothing more that to work from this cozy situation of a chair, wearing this cute sweater and drinking several of these (non-alcoholic of course!)… a girl can dream, right? I hope this Monday is treating you good.

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday friends! Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? My husband is gone for most of it, so I am planning to get a few projects done as well as have some quality girl time with my nail polish. Today I am really inspired by the work of stylist, Tara Sloggett. Hope you enjoy these beautiful photos too! See you Monday!

Staying Cozy.

Thank you all so much for your thoughtful comments regarding rocking chairs yesterday! I think the consensus was that a chair that rocks is not necessarily a must, but a comfy chair is useful. I had pretty much made up my mind not to bother with a rocking chair – until I spotted a cute vintage one during some shopping yesterday… hmm, more to think about. As a first time mom, I found all of your comments very helpful, so thanks again!

I don’t know about you, but I have been cold these last couple of mornings! I think all of this blue sky makes the mornings extra crispy! My slippers are on, the heat is cranked and I huddle under my vintage wool plaid blanket as I eat my breakfast. So I thought I’d do a post on how to stay cozy as I’m sure we have many more cold days ahead of us. What are some of your favorite ways to stay cozy?

Leggings, boots and warm socks, baby knit mocs (I couldn’t resist), cheddar-ale soup, cozy sweater and a super comfy scarf!

And here’s a round-up of some cute vintage wool blankets for sale on Etsy!

A Question for the Moms…

Chulamama via tales of me and the husband

For all you mama’s out there: did you find that an actual rocking chair was a necessity when nursing your little one? I am having a tough time deciding which chair to purchase. I would love a rocking chair, however all of the ones I like aesthetically, are really pricey. Right now, I am leaning towards getting the Jennylund from Ikea. While it’s not a rocker, it is comfy, I like that it has a high back to rest your head and since space is an issue for us, I like that it has a relatively small footprint (for an upholstered chair). But what I like most is the price!

Ikea

While I would still love to owe any of these stylish rockers, the reality is that most of them are well over $800 and that is just not going to happen. So, I would love to hear from you! How important is it to get a chair that actually rocks? Will a comfortable stationary chair do the trick? Also, if you know of any stylish and affordable rocking chairs out there, hook a girl up! Thanks!

Off Topic…

Okay, this is a little off topic, but has anyone seen the October Zara lookbook for girls? Seriously cute stuff. I would rock any of these outfits if only they came in my size. To see more go here.
