I’m sure you have all noticed the trend toward an ‘industrial’ look when decorating. This isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I love it. Now don’t get me wrong, I am not a fan of everything made out of metal, but I think a few key industrial pieces ‘softened’ with the rest of your decor, can really add a lot of interest to a room.

I am a sucker for anything with lots of little drawers… and old lockers for that matter…

This kitchen has a lot going on, with the brick walls, modern cabinets, stainless steel counters, industrial stools, but it still manages to look soft and timeless because of the natural wood floors, the live plants and the warm gold accents. Below is an example of an ‘industrial farmhouse’ kitchen, two words that wouldn’t normally go together, but you can see how well it actually works.

I love the workspace above… especially loving the industrial loaf pan as an organizer!

I would love to have these old metal locker baskets in my kitchen one day – or anywhere for that matter!

I love the warmth of the display above. The industrial look doesn’t have to be all gray and metal and ‘cold’ – it can be warm and inviting! I also love that you can add industrial pieces like clocks, stools, metal lamps, old letters, metal baskets or bins to just about any decor style! It complements the French look, country, or contemporary – you can really make this look your own.
We are kindred design spirits! This is my favourite look…the perfect mix of vintage and industrial that’s not too cold but looks comfortable and lived in! Great post 🙂
When we reno I am sooo going to add some industrial pieces!…Love the inspiration, thanks for sharing!
Hi!
I am really loving your blog and was so excited to notice that you are in Chilliwack rather than somewhere in the US. I live between Mission and Maple Ridge and share your love for refurbished “junk”. Keep up the great work and I’ll have to put a visit to Twig Home on my to-do list!
