A Beverly Hills Home.

Hello pink! I don’t think I could live with this much pink all of the time, but looking at these photos of a Beverly Hills home decorated by Schuyler Samperton just makes me happy! I also like how the pink pops are mainly in the drapes, pillows and flowers, making it fairly easy to change things up if the mood strikes. What about you? Are you a pink fan or not?

Well, these last couple of weeks have been the most frustrating on this ol’ bloggy blog. Unfortunately our server was hacked, which meant a lot of work for Dustin (since I am pretty clueless when it comes to the technical side of blogging)… Luckily he was able to restore most of the content (!) which was a huge relief, but the look of my blog was lost to us forever. Although instead of being upset about that, I think it is a great excuse to change things up a bit here. So what you see now is just temporary until we have some time to ‘redecorate’ so to speak.

For those of you still out there, thanks so much for your patience! I am really hoping the worst is over and I am excited to get back into the swing of things next week! Have a great weekend!

{P.S. the image above is of a few beautiful antique quilts my mom found for me on Craigslist! I’m still deciding if I have it in me to sell them…}

Hello Again!

Well, I am still alive… and also still pregnant. Today is the first of my 2 due dates (although I think the second one, January 1st, is more accurate).  Obviously, I guess, since still no baby today. I won’t be too surprised if I end up going overdue – I think she might just need a little more time in there. I am trying my best to be patient; although it never was one of my virtues. I just can’t wait to hold her in my arms instead of in my belly, if you know what I mean.

Anyway, I thought I would pop in to say hello! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are rested and have full bellies from all that turkey and pie! My Christmas was pretty uneventful but full nonetheless. It has been so wonderful just taking a break and spending some much needed time with family and friends. My blogging schedule probably won’t go back to ‘normal’ for a while as I spend most of my time cuddling my daughter (hopefully soon!) and trying my best to get the hang of being a first time mommy. But I will be popping in from time to time and before long I should have a new schedule figured out.

I just thought I’d share with you this gorgeous Japanese home that has been inspiring me lately. It’s warm, simple and unexpected. Just the way I like it.

Baby Room Inspiration.

Good morning! By now you probably know that I am expecting our first baby at the end of this year and also that the baby room will be our walk-in closet. While maybe not ideal, I am sort of excited by the challenge of living with less, (I have been purging like a madwoman), and making even a tiny closet feel special. I thought I would give you a little peek into what has been inspiring me for the eventual baby’s room. Also, judging by what I’ve put out here, you’ll probably guess the gender of our little one.

Since the room is so small and there are no windows, I wanted to go with lots of white with some soft, happy colours brought in through art and accessories. I also love the idea of bringing in some natural elements such as using branches in the mobile. I will definitely be trying my hand at a few little DIY projects in the near future. Also, something you probably don’t see much of here, are vintage touches – but not to worry – there will be plenty in the actual room!

Summer Cleaning.

Last night I started purging. I only got through my clothes, but my closet already feels so much cleaner. The small size of our house does restrict us from keeping a certain amount of excess – which I think is a good thing, only living with the things you truly need. But I am finding, if I don’t keep myself constantly in check, it is amazing how much extra ‘stuff’ I can fit in. And so begins my purging journey, room by room. Here are some photos of incredibly organized rooms that are inspiring me.
