A DIY Home.

Happy Friday! I don’t know about you, but wow, that week went by fast! A couple nights ago, Dustin and I went on a spontaneous date night without Wren. Dinner and then groceries… my, how the times have changed :). While in line at the grocery store, I decided to treat myself to the new Country Living Magazine. I was actually looking for this one, but they didn’t have it.

This North Carolina home was one of my favorite features in the magazine (you can see my other favorite one here). The owners have done a great job ‘DIY-ing’ their entire house on a budget. That’s my kind of house! From full on renovations, to building furniture, to decorating. And it looks great! I love all the white walls with the natural wood tones. So airy and light.

So, any fun plans for the weekend? We are having an open house on Sunday afternoon so we will have to find somewhere to escape for a few hours… I am thinking maybe some treasure hunting? We will see. Have a great weekend all!

Happy Friday!

I thought I would just pop in to say, Happy Friday! Do you have any fun plans for the weekend? I am planning on some thrifting… to hopefully build up some stock for the upcoming Scout Market! Oh, have I not mentioned that Twig Home will be a vendor?? Hmm, must have slipped my mind… Just kidding. The reason I am only now posting about it is because I kept waffling in my decision – Rachel and Lily can attest to this! They have been very patient with me. The truth is I just wasn’t sure if I would be able to put my all into it with a new baby and all. But now that I finally decided to go for it, I am really excited! So, mark your calendars and I hope to see you all there!

Antique Rugs in the Kitchen.

Happy Friday all! You’ll have to forgive me for the extreme quietness around here lately – this time my excuse is not (only) a baby, but the reality of getting this blog up and running after the unfortunate event of being hacked.  It is slow going around here, folks.

One thing I have always loved, and even more so recently, are antique rugs in the kitchen. I think it makes the kitchen somehow seem even more homey and lived in. They look just as great in classic, country style kitchens as they do in modern, contemporary kitchens. But the thing I love most about antique rugs in the kitchen is that they add a sort of eclectic warmth to a room that can sometimes look stark and clinical. Now all I have to do is find one I can afford!

If you are interested in finding one of these fabulous antique rugs as well, you could start by looking here and here. There are some great options out there – and if you look hard enough, you can find some killer deals! I hope you have a fantastic weekend and I’ll see you next week!

Happy Friday.

Happy Friday everyone! Wren and I have a busy day of napping ahead of us… and maybe a walk thrown in for good measure! So I am just going to leave you with the lovely home of Aya Yamanouchi Lloyd. Hope you have a great weekend! See you on Monday.

Happy Friday.

Happy Friday! Did your week go as quickly as mine did?! I feel like it was just the weekend yesterday! Not that I am complaining or anything. We have a pretty busy weekend planned; a work party tonight, a birthday party to go to on Sunday, and I am going to attempt to finally give Twig Home some attention. I’ve got lots of vintage goodies to sort through, price, and restock. Here’s to hoping Wren wants to let mama work too!

I am loving the farmhouse home of interior designer, Jared Paul featured on Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles. I love the serene, peaceful colour scheme with a few well-placed pops of colour. I also am a big fan of the wide plank hardwood floors and original wood paneled walls, as well as those interior window shutters! So pretty.

Well, I hope you all have a lovely weekend! Enjoy the sun and I hope to be back here on Monday with A Few Lovely Things!
