A Simple Christmas.

Happy Friday all! No matter what kind of a week I have, without a doubt, I am always so pumped for the weekend… And today is no different. Truth be told, I am still recovering from the market on the weekend – being over 8 months pregnant can really take it out of you! So most of my plans include sticking close to home. However, my mom is throwing my sweet baby girl a shower this weekend, so that should be fun. Do you have any exciting plans for the next 2 days? Hope you have a wonderful time, whatever you do!

I came across this lovely Australian home this week and the simplicity of it really appealed to me. Maybe it’s because we aren’t really doing Christmas decorations in our home this year, but the whole ‘less is more’ look is really speaking my language. Those sweet animals aren’t hurting anything either…

Love It or Hate It: Neon.

Have you noticed that neon is having a moment right now? Showing up everywhere from fashion to weddings, to stationary, to interiors, even in Christmas decor and wrapping! While I am much more of a classic and neutral girl, I can’t help but be drawn to these bright and happy colours, especially when they are paired with a neutral. So, how about you? Love it or hate it?

Advent Inspiration.

Hello! I have been busy bee lately getting things ready for the Fieldstone Vintage Market, and also trying to get things ready for our little birdy who is going to be joining us shortly. To tell you the truth, I have been a bit distracted by all that is before me… And this ol’ blog is showing it. I hope you’ll have some grace on me over the next few weeks as I try to tie up some loose ends.

As sad as this may sound, I have decided not to decorate my home for Christmas this year (gasp!). Mostly because it is hard to anticipate when and how our baby will arrive and I am worried I would still have a tree up well into Spring! While I am perfectly at peace with this decision, Christmas decor has been a little off my radar this year. But one thing I think I could perhaps still manage to pull off is an advent calendar. I have seen so many creative DIY versions floating around the internet these days that it would be sort of hard to resist. I thought I’d share a few of my favorites.

Sweet Paul Magazine.

Does the holiday season make you want to be more crafty? I don’t know what it is, maybe the colder weather, but every year around this time, all I want to do is stay inside and make pretty things! Combine that with ‘nesting’ this year and you can imagine what my house looks like! Especially since we are missing a key component – an office/craft room. Oh well. I’ve already decided not to decorate much for Christmas this year… I know, it sounds so sad but not knowing exactly when this baby is going to come makes things a little more difficult. I am mostly scared that I won’t have the time or energy to take it all down until Spring! Good thing I have the Fieldstone Vintage Market to make things for!

There are a lot of fun Christmas and holiday themed craft ideas in the new magazine from Sweet Paul, not to mention delicious looking recipes. Take a look for yourself, here.

Christmas, Here We Come!

Well, I figure because Halloween is now over that it would only be appropriate to let you all know (in case you haven’t yet heard) that the ladies from Birch and Bird are at it once again – and this time with a Christmas market! Twig Home will be there – and I will probably look ready to pop! But that’s not stopping me :). Most of the information is above but they will also be working alongside the Salvation Army to help them launch their annual coat drive. So bring your outgrown coats along and help keep others in our community warm for the holidays! To keep posted on more information and a list of the vendors, be sure to check out the Fieldstone Vintage Market page. Hope to see you all there!
