Big News.

Well, I guess I didn’t have to keep you waiting too long before I revealed my BIG announcement after-all! You may have heard the news already if you follow a certain couple of blogs, so, rather than continue to hint, let me present the next chapter of my life…a bricks and mortar storefront! Spruce Collective is the collaboration between Lily, Monica, Jessica, Elisa and myself and we couldn’t be more excited!!! A retail shop full of all things vintage and well loved, handmade goods from local artisans, our favourite new products, a certain line of paint (to be announced!) and creative classes for all! We cannot wait to dig in and get started and have so many big plans.

Spruce will open early this fall (eek!) in Downtown Abbotsford and we have a lot to do before then, although most of it is fun…once we get all of the boring but oh-so-necessary business bits behind us. I am beyond thrilled to partner up with these amazing ladies!

Between packing up and moving my family somewhere (still to be decided) and opening a full-fledged retail store all in the next couple of months, I definitely have my work cut out for me! And although I am freaking out a little bit (Dustin would say a lot :)), about all that is on my plate right now, I couldn’t be happier and I just know that this is the right timing. The details all fell into place so quickly and I just couldn’t pass up such an amazing opportunity!

Our logo and website are being “spruced” up (hehe) as we speak but for now you can stay tuned on our shiny new Facebook page…and I’ll be sharing lots here too, of course!

P.S. Since I will be a busy bee in the coming months with this new venture, I will unfortunately be pulling my Twig Home items from Cozy Home at the end of August and Creekside at the end of September. I have so enjoyed being a part of these two amazing stores and am so thankful to have been given the opportunity to sell under someone else’s roof.

I’m Back!

Is anyone even still out there? I don’t blame you if you’re not. I guess I unintentionally took most of the summer off. I do apologize for not giving you the heads up and just disappearing like that. I have been very busy though! Good news, we finally sold our house! I feel pretty relieved as we were beginning to feel trapped here. Although now that we have the freedom to leave, we’re not sure exactly what to do or where to go! I think we will move in with my parents until we figure out if we want to buy or rent for a little while.

I also have some BIG and exciting news to share with you all soon! And no, I am not pregnant… Sorry for the cliffhanger, but you’ll just have to be patient until I can let the cat out of the bag. Soon, I promise!

In other news, I have followed Joslyn’s blog for some time now. My favorite part is when she does her column, ‘Scenes from the Weekend‘, where she shares little snippets from her life and home. I could always tell that she must have a great home from the small snapshots of beautiful vignettes and displays – But I have long been dying to see a full home tour. And yesterday I got my wish! Joslyn’s home was featured in Rue Magazine’s August edition. Click here for more photos and the interview and here for outtakes from the photo shoot.

Pretty great, right? Told you. Also, I have to apologize for leaving you again, but we are off tomorrow for a full week of camping by the seaside! Dustin worked really hard to get our vintage Boler ready to use for the trip. It is still a work in progress, but it’s liveable! I promise to show you some photos when we get back. I’m also going to pop in to make a big announcement (and I mean BIG)! So stay tuned.

Weekending and an Anniversary.

Is it Monday already?! I don’t know about you, but this weekend flew by for me. Dustin and I spent a wonderfully lazy day by the ocean in beautiful Fairhaven on Saturday. We went for walks, ate good food, and good ice cream… best of all, we were able to eat slowly and at the same time! Funny the things you take for granted before you have a baby ;). I can’t believe it’s been two years already (technically 2 years tomorrow)… This seems like just yesterday. I love you, babe, and considering the last 2 years produced this awesomeness, I can’t wait to see what else our future holds.

Great Finds.

Happy Weekend to you! Any fun plans for the next couple days? Dustin and I are celebrating our 2 year anniversary a few days early tomorrow with a day gallivanting in Fairhaven… and then maybe even a night without Wren (if I can handle it). I sure hope the weather dries up by then because we are planning on bringing our bikes. Though, I am not minding the rain today – that way I don’t feel too sorry for myself while I am stuck inside cleaning our house for yet another showing tonight. Please, for the love, BUY OUR HOUSE! Can you tell my patience is running thin?? 😉

I thought I’d share a few of my thrifting finds from this week. Don’t you just love a successful treasure hunt? Enjoy, and have a great weekend!

A Few Lovely Things.

Hello! I hope your week is going well so far. Mine has been filled with family visits (my brother and his wife and 2 daughters are moving here from Kentucky this week!), treasure hunting, and doctors appointments (Wren’s immunizations). So I just haven’t had the time to pop in here until now. I haven’t posted a few lovely things for awhile now so I feel like I could have chosen hundreds of items, but I limited myself to just these 11. Hope you enjoy.

A lovely vintage inspired print.

Some lovely hair ties… which also look pretty on your wrist – genius!

A lovely chair.

Lovely little macaroon trinket boxes.

A lovely ring.

A lovely vintage teakettle.

A lovely DIY. (Twig Home currently has several antique wooden spools for sale at Creekside if you want to give this a try).
